スタンフォード大学などの世界の有名大学の大学生と世界農業遺産「高千穂郷椎葉山地域」を学ぶ、GIAHSスタディツアーが今年も開催されました。
今回は今年新しくGIAHSアカデミーに入った４期生の３人からGIAHSスタディツアーの体験レポをお送りします！
GIAHSスタディツアー楽しかった〜！
椎葉村の焼き畑レポ

私は、今回のスタディーツアーで高千穂郷椎葉山地域について改めてこの地域のことを知る良い機会だったなと思いました。
３日間スタディーツアーに参加して、特に印象に残っている見学地があります。それは椎葉村です。
椎葉村に１度も行ったことがなくスタディーツアーで行く前の椎葉村の印象は、「大きなダムがある」や「焼き畑が有名」ということしか知りませんでした。
でも今回のスタディーツアーで実際に行ってみると、「鶴富屋敷」という国指定重要文化財に選ばれている建物や「椎葉民俗芸能博物館」という椎葉の歴史に触れられる施設などに訪問しましたが、訪問した中で特に面白かったのが焼畑です。
椎葉村の農業は、焼畑が軸となった農業が形成されていました。私が、焼畑を見てびっくりしたことがあります。まず、焼畑を行う場所です。焼畑は緩やかな斜面でやると思っていましたが、実際に行ってみると想像以上の急斜面でした。
また、焼畑をやる人は高齢者が多いときいていたのでとても大変で高齢者に負担がかかる作業なんだなと思いました。
次に、焼畑を行うときの火のつけかたです。山火事にならないように、山の上の方から火をつけてどんどん下にくだっていきながら焼くとおっしゃっていました。
作業一つ一つが大変ながらも、山が火事にならないように工夫して作業していらっしゃるので地元の人々はすごいことをしているんだなと思いました。
これからは、椎葉のよさを世界に発信していきたいと思います。今回習ったことを忘れずこれからのGIAHS活動も頑張っていきたいと思います！
大学生と家族のように学ぶ「ファミリーシステム」

集合場所に着くまでの車内で1番心配していたことは、やはり人と仲良くなれるかどうかということでした｡私は人見知りしない方です｡
とはいえ､初めましての人と2泊3日一緒に過ごすなんて経験はなかったので､多少の不安はありました｡ しかし､留フェロの皆さん､五ヶ瀬中等教育学校の皆さんと合流した時､私の中にあった不安はすぐに消えてしまいました｡(個人的に幼なじみがいた事もあり)なんだか初めましてな感じがなかったのです。既に私の名前を覚えていてくださっている方もいて､あ、この中だったらきっといい学びができる!!と直感的に思ったのかもしれません｡
さて、今回のGIAHSスタディツアーには『ファミリー』というシステムがありました｡
大学生2名と高校生4名ほどでグループを作り､フィールドワークの後の意見交換などを行う､というものです。そのグループをファミリーと呼び､まるで家族のように(もはや家族以上に)行動を共にします｡私はファミリーBの一員でした。ファミリーBはみんなが積極的にコミュニケーションを取ろうとしていて､とても”優秀”なメンバーで構成されたファミリーでした｡
1日目｡まずは椎葉村の歴史を学びました｡資料館や美術館が好きな私にとってとても嬉しい時間でした。とにかくガイドさんのお話が楽しくて仕方がない!!終始ガイドさんのすぐ後ろで話を聞かせて頂きました｡個人的にまた行きたいと強く思いました｡
フィールドワークが終わり､次の場所へのバスでの移動時間｡修学旅行のバス移動などは皆さんも経験があると思いますが､だいたい騒いでいるか寝ているかですよね笑
しかし､そんな移動時間も無駄にしないのがGIAHSスタディツアー｡
バスの中で､ファミリーごとにフィールドワークを通して感じたこと､考えたこと､自分の中での発見などを共有するのです!!ファミリーの中でもいろいろな視点があり、会話をする中でも学び・発見があるから頭はフル回転!!この時間も､フィールドワークに負けないくらい充実した時間なのです。
深夜のプレゼンテーション。

私にとってスタディーツアーは、「初」なことをたくさん体験できた場でした。
振り返ってみると、どの体験も話し合いも、いろんな方のプレゼンテーションも、とても楽しく、刺激をたくさん受けました。どの思い出も私にとってとても貴重で一生物です。
その中でも私は一日目の夜にどんな活動をしたか紹介していきたいと思います。
一日目の夜は、①高校生企画②大学生のプレゼンテーションという流れで進んでいきました。
①の高校生企画では企画メンバーの6人が高校生代表として1時間の企画を考えました。
まず高千穂郷椎葉山地域の魅力についてのプレゼンをし、その後にファミリーごとに哲学対話をしました。
哲学対話では、自由とは何か？ なぜ数学を勉強しなければならないのか？ など何気なく過ごしていたら考えられないことを時間たっぷり考えました。
哲学対話で考えた後には、高千穂に伝わる「がまだせ節」をみんなで踊り、記念として神楽の時に登場する「えりもの」を配布して高校生企画は幕を閉じました。
私も企画メンバーの一人でしたが、自分たちが考えたものをたくさんの人が楽しそうに活動してくれたので、とても嬉しかったです。あっという間に時間が過ぎていきました。
②の大学生のプレゼンテーションは、2名の方にしていただきました。「自分を主語にして学習をデザインする」ことや「目標を据えずに目の前のチャンスに身を投じ、自分を環境にぶち込んでみる」など大学生ならではの視点で私たちに話をしてくださいました。
大学生一人一人の個性が光っていて自分がどれだけ狭い世界しか見れておらず固定概念にとらわれていたかを痛感しました。大学生からもらった新しい視点や新しい考え方をこれからも大事にし、磨いていきたいと思います。
このスタディーツアーで私は自分の意見や考えを「自分の言葉」で伝えられるようになりました。このツアーで手にした力をこれからの高校生活に活かしていきたいです。
